Krzysztof Jakub Putra (born July 4, 1957 in Józefowo in the Podlaskie Voivodeship ; † April 10, 2010 near Smolensk , Russia ) was a Polish politician, senator, deputy senate marshal, member of the Sejm in the X., I. and VI. Election period and deputy Sejm Marshal - also in the VI. Electoral term.

Life

From August 1980 Putra belonged to the independent Solidarność union . From 1975 to 1994 he worked in a factory in Białystok , initially as a simple worker and from 1983 as a foreman . In the 10th electoral term (1989 to 1991) he was a member of the Solidarność Citizens' Committee in the Sejm. In 1990 Putra was one of the founders of the Center Alliance and in the first electoral term of the Sejm he was a member of this party from 1991 to 1993. In 2001 he was one of the founders of Law and Justice ( Prawo i Sprawiedliwość , PiS for short ) and became President of the PiS in the Podlaskie region . From 2002 to 2005 he had a seat in the Sejm of the Podlaskie Voivodeship .

In the parliamentary elections in Poland in 2005 , Putra was elected senator. From October 27, 2005 to November 4, 2007 he was Deputy Senate Marshal (Wicemarszałkowie Senatu) .

Putra won a seat in the parliamentary elections in Poland in 2007 , where he received 53,651 votes in the Białystok constituency. On November 5, 2007, he ran for the parliamentary group of the PiS as Sejmmarschall (Marszałek Sejmu Rzeczypospolitej Polskiej) ; However, he lost to Bronisław Komorowski , the candidate of the Platforma Obywatelska (Civic Platform) , with a vote ratio of 160 to 292 and was elected a day later as deputy Sejm Marshal.

On April 10, 2010, Krzysztof Jakub Putra was part of a Polish delegation led by President Lech Kaczyński , who was to travel to the memorial in Russia on the occasion of the seventieth anniversary of the Katyn massacre . However, in a plane crash of the delegation near the Smolensk-Nord military airfield , he was killed along with other high-ranking representatives of Poland. Posthumously on April 16, 2010, he was awarded the Commander's Cross with Star of the Order Polonia Restituta (Krzyż Komandorski z Gwiazdą Orderu Odrodzenia Polski) .

Putra left a wife and eight children.
