Leyland Gnu

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Leyland Gnu with the type designation TE was a bus chassis from the British commercial vehicle manufacturer Leyland Motors . The type was only built in 1937. The chassis had two steerable front axles with a total of three axles, similar to the later Bedford VAL . However, the concept could not prevail at the time, only eight copies were built. The superstructures for the bus were built by Duple and Alexander and had up to 40 seats. Atypical for British buses of the time, the Gnu had a front handlebar structure . Both coaches and buses were produced.
