The Morris WE / Austin S203 / S403 / S503 was a long- hood truck that the British Motor Corporation produced from 1955. After a revision in 1964, it was marketed as the Morris WF / Austin S303 / S403 / S503 and from 1968 as the BMC WF. In the export markets, the Austin model mostly bore the name of the Morris, WE / WF. After BMC merged with Leyland Motors to form the British Leyland Motor Corporation , it was produced from 1970 to 1981 as the Leyland WF and replaced by the Leyland Landmaster .

The Morris WE / Austin S203 / S403 / S503 was a long- hood truck that was first introduced by the British Motor Corporation in 1955 as a counterpart to the Morris FE (Austin FE) and went on sale. Were previously in the group on the Morris-Commercial -based truck cab- with more visually for fast and volume transport that was Austin Loadstar other hand, more than construction vehicle , tractor or down vehicle suitable and similar tasks for heavier trucks. Since the commercial vehicles of the Morris Motor Company and the Austin Motor Company were now developed centrally by BMC and were only marketed by various names and emblems as Morris or Austin, a successor to the Austin Loadstar should now be created for both brands. The cabin of the Morris WE or Austin S203 / S403 / S503 was therefore developed from the Austin Loadstar, as was the chassis. After the Loadstar was revised at the end of 1954, it remained in the program until the end of 1956 in the heaviest variant with a payload of 5 tons. So in 1955 the Morris WE and the Austin S203 / S403 / S503 with 2.4 or 5 tons of payload came onto the market. Either a BMC 3993 cm³ 6-cylinder petrol engine with 90 HP or a BMC 3.1 liter diesel engine for the light variants took over the drive. In addition to the 4 liter petrol engine, there was also a BMC 5103 cm³ 6-cylinder direct injection diesel engine with 100 HP for the 5 ton variant . The 3.1 liter diesel engine was not offered on the export markets, all engines had 4-speed manual transmissions.

In mid-1964, the series was revised and presented as the Morris WF. After the 2 ton variant was dropped and the 3 ton payload was now the smallest variant, it started as the Austin S301 / S401 / S501. Visually striking design differences were the double headlights with a new radiator grille and a one-piece windshield. In terms of technology, a BMC 3.8 liter direct injection diesel engine replaced the 3.1 liter and there was now 5-speed instead of 4-speed manual transmission. In the home market, the model was nicknamed "Woofer". After BMC had decided in the 1960s to market its commercial vehicles under the brand name BMC, the series was also offered as BMC WF. In 1966, a 5.7 liter BMC direct injection diesel engine with 105 hp replaced the 5.1 liter. During 1968 the Morris and Austin variants were discontinued. In the same year, the merger of BMC and Leyland to form BLMC was agreed. Therefore, the series was renamed the Leyland WF in 1970.

Until 1975 the Leyland WF remained technically and optically the same as the previous models. Due to the consistently high customer demand for the model, the WF was modernized again in 1975 in the form of a revised cabin and front. Technically, the Leyland 6.9 liter direct injection diesel engine with 115 hp was introduced as well as power steering . This brought it again a high demand and therefore a long production time until 1981 when it was replaced by the Leyland Landmaster .
