The Austin A125 Sheerline was a luxury 4-door sedan produced by Austin Motor Cie. That this 1947 along with the much smaller model A40 Dorset and the large A135 Princess I could say. It replaced the pre-war Austin 28 model .
Model history
The A125 was equipped with a six-cylinder in-line engine with 3,993 cc displacement, which passed its output of 125 bhp (92 kW) on to the rear wheels. Its body with free-standing headlights and attached trunk corresponded to the style of the 1930s. In addition to the limousine (saloon), there was also a Pullman (limousine) with a longer wheelbase. The sedan reached a top speed of 131 km / h. A number of independent body manufacturers produced individual bodies for the Austin chassis at the customer's request, including the Belgian company Vesters & Neirinck , which created a two-door convertible with A125 technology in 1949.
In 1953, production of both models was stopped after around 9,000 copies. The successor was the A135 Princess III.
