The Morris 250 JU (also known as the Austin 250 JU ) was a pickup truck from BMC and after the merger of British Leyland Motor Corporation . It was built as a so-called forward commercial vehicle as a panel van / minibus or chassis for bodies. The driver and front passenger sat on the engine, the B-series petrol engine with 1622 cm³ and 36 kW (49 hp).

A £ 4,180 250 JU RV was tested by Autocar magazine in the UK , where it reached a top speed of 58 mph (93 km / h). The tester found it a big improvement over the J2 it replaced. However, it is difficult to drive and the noise level is very high, especially above 40 mph (64 km / h).

After the formation of the British Leyland Motor Corporation in 1968, it was renamed the BMC 250 JU. In 1970 he became the "Austin Morris 250 JU" again. Neither the further development nor the marketing of the JU had been classified as a priority in the BLMC group due to the many group problems. Nevertheless, he has sold in the domestic market against competitors such as vehicles primarily the Ford Transit and the now aging Bedford CF good. Later he fell back further and further and was replaced by the Leyland Sherpa with the smaller Morris J4 in 1974 .
