The Austin 60 hp was the first six-cylinder passenger car that Austin Motor Cie. brought out. The car had the cylinder and crankshaft of the smaller Austin 40 hp , but with six cranks. This resulted in a displacement of 8764 cm³ - the largest ever realized in an Austin engine.
There were chassis with shorter and longer wheelbases; both were used for four-seat touring cars.
In the course of 1910, the second six-cylinder model 50 hp appeared as a successor.
