Kukań ( German  Ludwigsbau ) is a village in the West Pomeranian Voivodeship in Poland . The village belongs to Gmina Kamień Pomorski (Cammin Municipality) in the Kamieński Powiat (Cammin District) .

Geographical location

The village is located in Western Pomerania , about 55 km north of Stettin and about 8 km south of the district town of Kamień Pomorski (Cammin i. Pom.) .

history

The village was laid out in the 2nd half of the 18th century: At that time, the lord of Görke moved the farmers from Görke to the northeastern part of the Feldmark. The farms were rebuilt here and formed a small village that was named "Ludwigsbau".

In the middle of the 19th century Ludwigsbau formed its own community, but was under the police administration of the lord of Görke and was parish and schooled in Görke. There were 4 houses with 34 inhabitants and 8 farm buildings. The Feldmark comprised 453 acres of land, mostly fertile arable land.

Until 1945, Ludwigsbau formed a rural community in the Cammin district of the Prussian province of Pomerania . Apart from Ludwigsbau there were no other places to live in the community. The municipality had 45 inhabitants in 1910, 44 inhabitants in 7 households in 1925, 49 inhabitants in 1933 and 40 inhabitants in 1939.

In 1945, like all of Western Pomerania, Ludwigsbau came to Poland. It received the Polish place name "Kukań". Today the place is in the Gmina Kamień Pomorski (municipality Cammin) and belongs to the Schulzenamt in neighboring Górki (Görke) .
