history

Gorke was an old fiefdom of the Pomeranian noble family Köller . In the Duchy of Pomerania in 1523 a Hinrik Kolre to Gorke (Heinrich Köller zu Gorke) had to provide two horses for the Görke estate when he was examined. Görke is listed in loan letters from 1665 and 1669. Towards the end of the 17th century, Görke became the property of the noble Brüsewitz family , but was acquired in 1740 by a captain Heinrich Albert von Köller. Among the later owners of the Köller family was Georg Ludwig von Köller-Banner (* 1728, † 1811), Danish general of the infantry. In 1819 Gorke became a family entrenchment . Among the Fideikommiss owners was the general landscape director Ernst-Matthias von Köller (* 1797, † 1883).

In Ludwig Wilhelm Brüggemann's detailed description of the Royal Prussian Duchy of Western and Western Pomerania (1784), Görke is listed among the noble estates of the Greifenberg district . Görke was then "on the road from Wollin to Treptow , which leads northwards near the village". At that time there was a noble residence in Görke with an arable farm , which included the small outbuilding Julianshof with two Büdners, six farmers, one of whom was also a Kruger, and a schoolmaster, a total of 19 households (“fire places”). The church was a branch of the mother church in Dobberphul .

Later, before 1804, the landowner moved the farmers from Görke to the northeastern part of the Feldmark. The farms were rebuilt here and formed a small village that was named Ludwigsbau . Ludwigsbau became its own parish, but remained parish and schooled in Görke.

As part of the district reform, which was carried out in the district of Stettin on January 1, 1818 , Görke moved together with 68 other villages from the district of Greifenberg to the district of Cammin .

In the 19th century, Görke formed a manor district to which the Julianenhof farm also belonged. Around 1870 the manor district comprised 2,650 acres of land, 173 inhabitants were counted in Görke and 12 inhabitants in the Julianenhof farm.

The manor was later converted into a rural community . Until 1945 Görke formed a municipality in the district of Cammin in the Prussian province of Pomerania . In addition to Görke, the community also had the Görke station , Plastichow and Julianenhof residential areas . In 1925 there were 311 inhabitants in 61 households, in 1933 348 inhabitants and in 1939 327 inhabitants.

In 1945 Görke came to Poland, like all of Western Pomerania. The place name was Polonized to "Górki". Today the place forms a Schulzenamt in the Gmina Kamień Pomorski (Cammin municipality) ; The neighboring village of Kukań (Ludwigsbau) also belongs to the Schulzenamt .
