Kunal Kohli ( Hindi कुनाल कोहली ) is an Indian Hindi film - director .

Life

Kunal Kohli studied at the Cathedral and John Connon School in Bombay . He was a film critic before making films himself. For several years he hosted the show Chalo Cinema on Zee TV . The director made his debut with Tirkon , a television series.

He is a partner in the production company Yash Raj Films , which is owned by producer and director Yash Chopra . It was under this production company that Kohli released his first film Best Friends Don't Kiss! ( Mujhse Dosti Karoge ) (2002), which, however, flopped at the cash registers.

Two years later, his second film, Hum Tum (2004), came out and became one of the biggest hits of the year. The film earned him the coveted Filmfare Award for best director .

His third film, Fanaa (2006), also became a box office hit and became a hit overseas as well. Fanaa aroused gigantic expectations, as Kajol played a leading role for the first time after a five-year baby break.

His family film and blockbuster Thoda Pyaar Thoda Magic - An Angel to Fall in Love (2008) starred Rani Mukerji and Saif Ali Khan . This was the first time he visited Germany in 2008, at the Indian film festival Bollywood and beyond in Stuttgart. In 2009 he will be here again as a jury member.
