from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Customer Advisory Board of Deutsche Bahn is a body of passengers that an advisory function to the Passenger Transport division of DB Group exercises.

At the beginning of 2004, the 32 members of the committee were selected from 5300 applicants by means of an advertisement in the customer magazine mobil . Their term of office is three years. The committee is organized into four working groups: timetable / pricing, sales, quality / service and complaint management.

The first meeting took place on June 21, 2004 in thebahn tower in Berlin ; six-month, non-public meetings and special sessions followed. In January 2007, a call for new appointments to 16 of the 32 seats in spring appeared in mobil . The company had received 5400 applications. In spring 2007, 15 of the 30 seats on the customer advisory board were filled and Wöbbeking was re-elected as spokesman. The constituent meeting took place on May 21, 2007 in Berlin. The next call to fill a third of the places was made in December 2009. Originally, around 50 percent of the places were to be filled.

In 2008 the committee was under the patronage of Ulrich Homburg , Board Member for Passenger Transport at DB Mobility Logistics . From mid-2008 (other source: 2007), the advisory board's spokesman was Martin Pohlers.

As part of a new round of applications, more than 2500 people applied by the end of January 2013, from which 13 were selected. The company selects new members every three years, who can be reappointed up to two times. It is under the direction of the managing director of DB Vertrieb .

In 2013, the Advisory Board consisted of 18 men and 12 women between the ages of 22 and 71. During a preliminary inspection of the ICE 4 , the advisory board criticized the seat spacing being too narrow, which was then changed.

In December 2018, there was another tender to fill around half of the places. While the entire advisory board continues to meet twice a year, there are special dates for twelve smaller groups.
