Kuno Dannien

Kuno Dannien (* 1931 in Lübeck ) is a German architect who mainly works in Lübeck.

Life

After completing secondary school at the cathedral , he initially completed an apprenticeship at the August Rosehr company. In parallel to this apprenticeship, he obtained his university entrance qualification in evening classes, which enabled him to study at the state building school, which he completed in 1954 with an exam.

He then worked for three years in Hermann Blomeier's office in Konstanz and another four years in Wiesbaden and Frankfurt am Main with Rainer Schell. In 1961 Dannien returned to Lübeck, where he initially worked in Karl Horenburg's office. During this time, the Paulus Chapel in Dänischburg (1962), the parish hall of the cathedral (1964) and the Wichern Church in Moisling (1965) were built. In 1971 he started his own business with Uli Fendrich. In Lübeck, he then built the vocational training center on the Priwall following the remaining buildings from the former aircraft test facility, then (1977) the Wichern workshops in Schlutup, the vocational school center in Georg-Kerschensteiner-Strasse (1983 and 1991) and in 1990 Multi-purpose hall of the Vorwerker Diakonie.

His projects outside of Lübeck include the renovation of the north wing of the cathedral monastery at Ratzeburg Cathedral (1990–1992).
