Kuno III. von Pyrmont was a son of Kuno II von Pyrmont or von Schönberg and his wife Aleidis (or Adelheid) von Ulmen . He was married to Agnes von Pyrmont and was a great-grandson of Theodorich von Clotten (1130–1190) and grandson of Kuno von Schönberg, the builder of Pyrmont Castle .
