The Compañía Cervecera Kunstmann SA is a Chilean brewery in Torobayo near Valdivia .
history
The German-Chilean Kunstmann family built a grain mill , a distillery and a yeast factory in Valdivia-Collico at the end of the 19th century . After the Anwandter brewery on Isla Teja, founded in 1851, was destroyed in the great earthquake in Valdivia in 1960 , the Kunstmann family began producing beer for their own needs in the 1960s. The beer has also been sold since 1997 . Production takes place in accordance with the German Purity Law .
The majority owner (50% + one share) is the Chilean brewery Compañía de Cervecerías Unidas (CCU). The director of the brewery is Armin Eduard Kunstmann Telge, the master brewers are Maria Paz Calderón and Lutz Herdtle.
Every spring the brewery organizes the Kunstmann Valdivia beer festival .
