Heilbronn Art Association
The Kunstverein Heilbronn is an art association founded in 1879 in the city of Heilbronn . Together with the Städtische Museen Heilbronn he runs the Kunsthalle Vogelmann , which opened in 2010 , an extension of the Harmonie concert and congress center on Heilbronner Allee .
history
The art association was founded on May 3, 1879 by citizens of the city, including the prison director Karl von Köstlin . During the First World War the exhibition was stopped and in 1919 the art association was re-established. During the Second World War , the association ended its activity again. On January 19, 1956, the association resumed its business.
The art association currently has around 560 members, around a third of whom are artists. In addition to its own exhibition activities, the association also offers art-educational and art-mediating offers such as trips to exhibitions, studio visits and lectures. The association currently has an exhibition area of approx. 300 m² and an annual budget of 150,000 euros.
Exhibition activity
In its recent history, the association has shown around 400 exhibitions so far. Every three years the Künstlerbund Heilbronn hosts an exhibition at the Kunstverein Heilbronn. The art association promotes both unknown contemporary artists and established positions in art. The exhibitors include Sigmar Polke , Georg Baselitz , Eberhard Bosslet , Bojan Šarčević , Georg Herold , André Butzer , Ralf Ziervogel , Hans Baschang , Hans-Peter Porzner and others. a. The association publishes its own catalogs for most exhibitions.
