The Kunstverein Neckar-Odenwald is a registered association based in Mosbach / Baden .

history

The association was founded in 1977 and regularly organizes art exhibitions. Its exhibition rooms are located in the two largest cities in the Neckar-Odenwald district, Mosbach and Buchen . In Mosbach he has the historical "old slaughterhouse" at his disposal. In Buchen, the association has the opportunity to show its exhibitions in the “Kulturforum Vis-à-Vis” exhibition room.

The exhibition program mainly includes national modern art with a focus on painting , sculpture and, more recently, photography . In addition, the active artists organized in the association are given the opportunity to present their work in group and solo exhibitions.

The highlights of the club's history include exhibitions with works by HAP Grieshaber (1979), Max Ackermann (1982), Wilhelm Schnarrenberger (1992), Johannes Grützke (1999), Anselm Kiefer (2002), and Werner Pokorny (2004). In 2005 the Kunstverein made a major contribution to an exhibition cycle on the subject of the Hollerbach painter colony . The year 2007 was dominated by the 30th anniversary of the association with ambitious group exhibitions. In 2014 a large exhibition was dedicated to the painter and graphic artist Fritz Heinsheimer from Mosbach .

Since 2004 emphasis has been placed on showing newer artistic media such as photography and computer art. In 2007 the association had around 250 members, including around 40 active artists. The Kunstverein Neckar-Odenwald is run on a voluntary basis; the painter Werner Zeh from Buchen was chairman from 1990 to 2014. In 2014 Harald Kielmann from Mosbach was elected chairman of the association.
