Copper chromite can be produced by precipitating basic copper ammonium chromate (BCAC) Cu (OH) NH 4 CrO 4 with subsequent drying and calcination .

Copper chromite is used as a catalyst in pyrotechnics and in the production of fatty alcohols . Doped with barium and manganese , it serves as an Adkins catalyst as a heterogeneous catalyst .
