Kurin ( Ukrainian Курінь ; Russian Курень Kuren ) is a village in the east of the Ukrainian Oblast Chernihiv with about 3700 inhabitants (2012).
The village, founded in the first half of the 17th century, is the administrative center of the 120.2 km² district council of the same name in the center of the Bachmatsch district , to which the villages Opolonske ( Ополонське , ⊙ ) with about 10 inhabitants, Ukrajinske ( Українське , ⊙ ) with about 40 inhabitants and Shumejkiw ( Шумейків , ⊙ ) with about 10 inhabitants.
The 7 km² large town is located at an average altitude of 142 m on the territorial road T – 25–14 8 km southwest of the district center Bachmatsch and 150 km southeast of the oblast center Chernihiv .
