Kurt Gorgs (born February 19, 1939 ) is a former German soccer player .
Career
The defender Gorgs moved from TuS 08 Langerwehe to Rot-Weiss Essen in 1959 . After three years he was accepted into the league team of Meidericher SV in 1962. The Oberliga West was then the top division in the league system that was not yet played nationwide. He made his debut on September 23, 1962, when he was on the field in a 1-0 away win against Duisburg city rivals Hamborn 07 . A week later, he received the trust of his coach Willi Multhaup again and scored two goals in the 3-1 home win against Borussia Mönchengladbach . He was seeded again in the following two games, but then played no role for a longer period of time. At the end of the 1962/63 season, his teammates qualified for the first division of the Bundesliga, which began in August 1963, as the unified first division of the Federal Republic of Germany, and Gorgs was a member of the squad for the first Bundesliga season.
Meiderich with his coach Rudi Gutendorf started as a relegation candidate in the season 1963/64, but managed to surprise and finished second in the table behind 1. FC Köln at the end of the season . Gorgs - thrown back by an operation on the meniscus - had no part in this until he received Gutendorf's trust on April 18, 1964, the 28th and third last game day, and in an encounter against 1.FC Nürnberg at the age of 25 Debuted in the Bundesliga for years. He defended at the side of Manfred Müller and Dieter Danzberg in a three-man chain and kept a clean slate in the 0-0 draw. In the last two games, the team was able to maintain second place in the table without his participation and thus make the MSV runner-up.
In the summer of 1964, Gorgs left the Meidericher after a Bundesliga game and four league matches to switch to the Saarbrücken sports fans who were competing in the second-class regional league . He became a regular player, but had to accept the withdrawal of his club for financial reasons a year later. He later settled near Düren and worked as a coach at the amateur club FC Viktoria Schlich in 1911 .
