Kurt Krieger (entrepreneur)

Kurt Krieger (born April 2, 1948 in Berlin-Schöneberg ) is a German entrepreneur .

After graduating from high school in 1967 at Ranke-Gymnasium in Berlin-Wedding , Krieger completed a bank internship and began studying business administration at the TU Berlin , which he completed in 1975 after several interruptions.

Parallel to this warrior had in 1967 at the Pankstraße the furniture store Hoffner re-established; he had acquired the rights to the name for 25,000  marks . After German reunification in 1990, he began to expand the company to East Germany. Since 2002, Krieger has also been the majority shareholder of the Hessian chain Möbel Walther . At the beginning of 2004, he joined the family company Möbel Kraft due to the impending bankruptcy of his furniture store chain . At the end of 2018 he took over the Finke Group based in Paderborn .

On his 60th birthday, the community of Schönefeld awarded him honorary citizenship for his services.

In 2010, Krieger Grundstück GmbH (KGG) acquired around 40  hectares of land in Berlin-Pankow between Berliner Straße and Prenzlauer Promenade in order to build a new residential area (“Pankower Tor”) with schools, a furniture store and a shopping center.

Krieger is married with two daughters and one son.
