Kurt Leitl

Kurt Leitl (born March 23, 1935 in Ehrwald , Tyrol ) is an Austrian politician ( ÖVP ).

Life

Kurt Leitl grew up in Sillian , where he also attended elementary school. After graduating from the academic high school in Innsbruck in 1955 , he began studying law at the University of Innsbruck . During his studies he found work at the customs office in Innsbruck. From 1967 Leitl earned his money as an employee at the tax office in Landeck , in which he rose over time to deputy board member. In 1979 he was honored with the title of senior councilor , in 1986 that of the court councilor .

His political career began in 1974 when he moved into the Landeck municipal council for the ÖVP . In the same year he was also a councilor for finance. From October 1979 to March 1981 he represented Tyrol as a member of the Federal Council in Vienna .

In 1981 he moved as a member of his party to the Tyrolean state parliament , to which he then belonged for 13 years until 1994. From 1989 until he left the Tyrolean state parliament, Leitl also acted as second state parliament president .

Within his party, he not only held the office of district party chairman in the Landeck district from 1980 to 1991 , but also held the office of deputy state chairman of the Austrian Workers' Union (ÖAAB) from 1984 to 1992 . Kurt Leitl was a member of the National Defense Council from 1980 to 1981.

Since 1955 he has been a member of the Catholic student association AV Raeto-Bavaria Innsbruck in the ÖCV .
