Kurt Neubert (cameraman)
Kurt Neubert (born April 3, 1900 in Dresden , † February 7, 1970 in Groebenzell ) was a German cameraman .
Live and act
Neubert, initially a blacksmith's journeyman, trained as a photographer and specialized in documentary recordings. At the beginning of June 1924 he moved to Freiburg im Breisgau , where he worked for Berg- und Sport-Film G.mb.H. the mountain film director Arnold Fanck was trained as a cameraman. He was then part of the Freiburg School .
He made his debut as one of several cameramen in Wilhelm Prager's documentary film Paths to Strength and Beauty and was camera assistant in the mountain film Der Heilige Berg by Arnold Fanck in 1925/26 . Neubert, a specialist in spectacular snow, avalanche, climbing, skiing and flying scenes, remained subordinate to well-known colleagues such as Franz Planer , Richard Angst and Willy Winterstein , even in larger productions . As a documentary filmmaker , he traveled to different countries. He was one of the camera teams for the Olympics documentaries Jugend der Welt and Olympia .
During the Second World War, Neubert was called up for military service. He then made two more feature films in 1952, which were followed by several documentaries.
