Kurt Wernli

Kurt Wernli (born June 3, 1942 ) is a politician in the Swiss canton of Aargau . He is entitled to live in Riniken and lives in Windisch .

Professional and political career

He completed the teachers' seminar in Wettingen and studied at the University of Zurich and Cambridge University . His professional stations:

• Realteacher in Unterentfelden
• District teacher and rector in Windisch
• Lecturer at the didactic center in Aarau
• School inspector in the Zurzach district

His political stations:

• Constitutional Council
• President of the SP Cantonal Party
• Grand Councilor and Grand Council President
• President of the State Accounts Commission
• President of the Teachers' Association of the Canton of Aargau

Government Council

In 1999, party colleague Silvio Bircher announced his resignation from the government council for health reasons . The SP nominated the lawyer Ursula Padrutt to succeed him. Kurt Wernli ran as a wild candidate and was elected by the people against the will of the party leadership. Wernli was then expelled from the party. Wernli officiated as a non-party and headed the cantonal economics department. In the elections on November 30, 2008, he did not run again and resigned from the government council on March 31, 2009.
