Kurt Wimpfheimer

Kurt Wimpfheimer ( June 27, 1915 in Ittlingen - August 2, 2013 in East Stroudsburg , Pennsylvania ), in the United States Kurt Wimer , was a German-American professor and author.

Life

Kurt Wimpfheimer moved from Ittlingen to Worms on May 13, 1936, where he was a prayer leader and teacher at the Jewish community of Worms and at the Jewish district school founded in 1935 in the community center, Hintere Judengasse 2.

On April 13, 1938, he emigrated to the United States , where he took the name Wimer. In 1944 he passed the bachelor's examination in political and social sciences and in 1945 the master’s examination with distinction. In 1957 he was promoted to Dr. phil. PhD . Until his retirement in 1977 he was a professor at Pennsylvania State University ( East Stroudsburg ).

Kurt Wimpfheimer published studies on President Woodrow Wilson and German-American relations during the First World War .
