Kurtis Marschall (born April 25, 1997 in Adelaide ) is an Australian pole vaulter .

Athletic career

Kurtis Marschall gained his first international experience at the Junior World Championships in Eugene , where he was eliminated from the qualification with 5.00 m. Two years later he won the silver medal at the U20 World Championships in Bydgoszcz with 5.55 m. He also qualified for the Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro , where he was eliminated with 5.60 m in qualification . In 2017 he took part in the World Championships in London , where he jumped 5.65 m in the final and thus reached seventh place. In 2018 he finished fourth with 5.80 m at the World Indoor Championships in Birmingham . In April he first took part in the Commonwealth Games in the Australian Gold Coast , where he won the gold medal with 5.77 m ahead of Canadian Shawnacy Barber .

In 2016, 2017 and 2018, Marshal was the Australian champion in pole vault.
