Léon Soulier

Léon-Raymond Soulier (born January 13, 1924 in Le Malzieu-Ville ; † December 25, 2016 ) was a French clergyman and Roman Catholic bishop of Limoges .

Life

Léon-Raymond Soulier was ordained a priest on September 7, 1947 .

Pope Paul VI appointed him Bishop of Pamiers on June 22, 1971 . The Bishop of Mende , René-Jean-Prosper-Bruno Boudon , donated him episcopal ordination on September 12 of the same year ; Co- consecrators were Roger Joseph Tort , Bishop of Montauban , and Sabin-Marie Saint-Gaudens , Auxiliary Bishop in Toulouse .

On July 9, 1987, he was appointed coadjutor bishop of Limoges by Pope John Paul II . With the resignation of Henri Gufflet on July 13, 1988, he succeeded him as Bishop of Limoges. On October 24, 2000, Pope John Paul II accepted his age-related resignation.
