Léon Théobald Delaere OFMCap (born February 1, 1898 in Gullegem , Belgium , † June 14, 1983 ) was a Belgian religious and Roman Catholic bishop of Molegbe .

Life

Léon Théobald Delaere joined the religious order of the Capuchin in and received on 23 September 1923, the sacrament of Holy Orders .

On November 13, 1958, Pope John XXIII appointed him . the titular bishop of Fessee and Apostolic Vicar of Ubanghi Belga. The Vicar Apostolic of Lisala , François Van den Berghe CICM , donated him episcopal ordination on April 5, 1959 ; Co-consecrators were the Vicar Apostolic of Bikoro , Camille Jean-Baptiste Vandekerckhove CM , and the Apostolic Vicar Emeritus of Ubanghi Belga, Jean Ghislain Delcuve, OFMCap.

Léon Théobald Delaere was due to the elevation of the Apostolic Vicariate Ubanghi Belga for on 10 November 1959 the diocese first bishop of Molegbe. On August 3, 1967, Pope Paul VI. the resignation put forward by Delaere and appointed him titular bishop of Rusibisir . Léon Théobald Delaere renounced the titular diocese of Rusibisir on September 14, 1976.

Delaere attended all four sessions of the Second Vatican Council .
