Lützeln is a district of Burbach in the Siegen-Wittgenstein district in North Rhine-Westphalia with 850 inhabitants.

geography

Lützeln is located in the southern Siegerland and is part of the Hickengrund at the foot of the "Kleiner Stein" mountain. Lützeln is considered the oldest of the four Hickendörfer. The Lützelbach runs through the village and flows into the Wetterbach in Niederdresselnorf .

Neighboring towns are Burbach in the north, Holzhausen in the northeast, Niederdresselnorf in the east, Liebenscheid in the south and Lippe in the west.

history

Lützeln was first mentioned in a document on April 25, 1349. In 1441 there were four households in town. The first village school was built in 1769, and 97 years later, in 1866, a new one. The school that is still standing was built in 1929. On July 3, 1881, a fire disaster destroyed 60 of 75 houses in Lützeln. Until the municipal reorganization on January 1, 1969, the place belonged to the office of Burbach . In 1999 there was the 650th anniversary celebration in town.

Lützeln is located on the 911 highway, which connects Niederdresselnorf with Lippe and meets the federal highway 54 between Lippe and Lützeln . Lützeln is connected to the “Haiger-Burbach” driveway of the federal motorway 45 via this. Siegerland Airport is located southwest of Lützeln . The next train station is in Niederdresselnorf.

Attractions

The 300-year-old Backes in the center of Lützeln is well worth seeing . The Große Stein ( 546  m above sea level ) and the Kleine Stein ( 587  m above sea level ) with the associated nature reserve are also worth a visit .
