The EL 12 series of the LEW Hennigsdorf is the name of an electric locomotive , 22 of which was built from 1952 to 1983.
development
These mine locomotives were built in different versions. Five of the 22 locomotives were exported to Poland . It is designed for use above ground. It was used in pieces:
- 1 × Mansfeld
- 1 × VEB Harzer Eisengruben
- 3 × VEB Hohenbockaer Glassandwerke, Hosena plant
- 6 × VEB United Sodawerke Bernburg, Staßfurt branch
- 2 × VEB sand-lime brick plant Niederlehme
- 4 × VEB lignite works in Puschwitz , part of the Piskowitz plant (15 t version).
Constructive features
mechanics
The frame of the locomotive was made from welded heavy plate . The locomotive has a terminal cab. The pantograph was on a portal above the frame. In addition to the version with the pantograph, there were also versions with a single-arm pantograph. The brake was designed as a manual spindle brake with brake pads on each wheel.
Electrics
Each axle was driven by a drive motor in the cradle bearing . With the cam travel switch, ten series speed levels, six parallel speed levels and ten braking levels can be selected for the direct current series motors via a resistance control.
