Laëtitia Tonazzi
Laëtitia Tonazzi (born January 31, 1981 in Créteil ) is a former French football player .
Club career
The attacker began playing football as a girl in a mixed team at FC Plessis-Trévise . In 1996 she was brought in by the traditional club VGA Saint-Maur , where Tonazzi became a fixture in the league as a teenager. In 2001 she moved to Juvisy FCF . She played for the first division for eleven years and during this time she won two national championship titles (2003 and 2006) and the national cup in 2005 . In the 2007/08 season, Laëtitia Tonazzi was also the league scorer queen with 27 goals in 22 games, and in 2010/11 with 20 goals. In Juvisy up to and including the 2011/12 season she scored more than 150 goals in over 200 league games; she also reached the quarter-finals of the Champions League in 2011 with this women's club . She then switched to series champion Olympique Lyon , with whom she won the championship and national cup in 2013 and 2014. Since the 2014/15 season she wore the Montpellier HSC dress . After a good first season, in which she played almost all of the MHSC's competitive games, she was repeatedly plagued by injuries, so that in the following three seasons she only made 24 more league encounters with at least 14 goals. Therefore, the now 37-year-old declared the end of her playing career in April 2018 - after a total of 28 years of club football.
Laëtitia Tonazzi was one of the most influential attackers in France's first division during the first two decades of the 21st century: even without the previously unrecorded championship seasons 2001/02 and 2002/03, she scored 197 goals in 263 league games.
In the national team
Laëtitia Tonazzi played for France as a teenager; in 2000 she took part in the U-18 European Championship in her own country. For the first time in April 2002, the then national coach Élisabeth Loisel then appointed her to the French national team at a game against the Czech Republic . After 55 full international matches until May 2010, she was initially no longer considered for the Bleues ; Nevertheless, Loisel's successor Bruno Bini nominated the experienced footballer, who had already participated in the 2003 World Cup and the 2009 European Championship , for his expanded squad for the 2011 World Cup , from which he then deleted her again before the tournament began. After she was very successful as a goal scorer for Lyon in the first half of the 2012/13 season, the national coach called Tonazzi back to his squad in 2013 and also switched her to the friendly game in Strasbourg against Germany in mid-February. Bruno Bini had also called her to his final European Championship squad; but due to an injury she had to cancel in June 2013 for the tournament in Sweden. Bini successor Philippe Bergeroo considered Laëtitia Tonazzi in his debut match in September of that year and regularly called her to his squad in 2013/14, mostly as a supplementary player.
In total, the attacker in the blue national dress played 66 international matches and scored 15 goals (last A international match on June 14, 2014).
