La Pierre Blanche

La Pierre Blanche ( German  "The White Stone" ) is a menhir in Pocé-les-Bois near Vitré in the Ille-et-Vilaine department in France . The menhir of the same name by Pierre Blanche is in the hamlet of Pierre Blanche near Oudon in the Loire-Atlantique department .

The quartz menhir has the shape of an obelisk with a polygonal base. It is 3.72 m high, 1.54 m wide and 1.35 m thick.

The menhir La Haute Pierre, 800 meters away, and the menhirs in Pocé-les-Bois, the menhir in Villaumur and La Pierre Blanche are on a line.

The menhir is already mentioned in a document from 1207 under the name Petra Alba.

The menhir was classified as a monument historique in 1970 .
