The Tour Ronde (German: Round Tower) is a lookout tower at 489  m above sea level. M. in the municipality of Orbe in the Swiss canton of Vaud .

situation

The tower, built in 1317, is 25 meters high and consists of roughly cut limestone blocks. The base of the tower has a diameter of 8.90 meters and a wall thickness of 3 meters.

101 steps lead to the viewing platform at a height of 20 meters. The platform offers a view of the historic old town of Orbe and the Jura .

Access to the tower costs two francs . The lower stairs are illuminated alternately in yellow and red tones. At the same time one is showered with soft music.
