The observation tower Chaumont ( French : "Tour panoramique de Chaumont" ) is one of the oldest observation towers from concrete and is next to the mountain station of the funicular La Coudre - Chaumont to Mount Chaumont ( Funiculaire de Chaumont ) above the town of Neuchâtel in Switzerland.
The filigree reinforced concrete tower from 1912, designed by the architect Arthur Bura and the engineer Arthur Studer, has a special feature that is partly accessed via a long inclined ramp made of steel framework construction.
A turnstile (entry CHF 1.–) followed by a sloping walkway to the tower and 56 steps leads to the platform at a height of 10 meters. The observation tower with antenna is about 20 meters high.
The observation tower can be reached in 2–3 minutes from the car park or the terminus of the funicular.
The tower is under monument protection, with the middle monument protection status of regional importance.
