The La Valletta was a ferry operated by the Italian shipping company Tirrenia di Navigazione , which entered service in 1971. The ship last used as Santorini Sky for day cruises remained in service until 2004 and was scrapped in Turkey in 2005 .

period of service

The La Valletta was laid down in May 1968 under the hull number 142 at Cantieri Navi Pellegrin in Naples and launched on December 19, 1970. After the takeover by Tirrenia di Navigazione on October 30, 1971, the ship was put into service on the route from Reggio Calabria via Catania to Syracuse and Valletta .

In 1976, the La Valletta became the property of Siremar and was henceforth in service on the coast of Sicily . In 1984 the ship switched to the route from Milazzo via Vulcano to Lipari and in 1987 to the route from Palermo to Ustica .

In 1989 the La Valletta was sold to the One-Day Cruises Maritime Company based in Piraeus and renamed Mistral II . From then on she was used for day cruises off the coast of Greece . In 1997 the ship was renamed Maria Pa before it was named Santorini Sky in 2001 .

After three more years in service, the Santorini Sky was launched in 2004 . After a year in berth, the ship was scrapped in Aliağa , Turkey , in October 2005 , where it arrived on December 7, 2005 under the transfer name Ant .
