The Labyrinth Kindermuseum Berlin is a children's museum in Berlin's Mitte district, Gesundbrunnen . The museum opened on September 12, 1997 and has since had more than 1.6 million visitors.

aims

The aim is to promote children's social and cultural education in a playful and creative way. The focus is on the joy of playing, curiosity and the individual strengths of the children. The Labyrinth Kindermuseum Berlin would like to contribute to the promotion of these skills:

activities

The Labyrinth Kindermuseum Berlin shows changing interactive exhibitions for girls and boys aged 3 to 11 years. In addition, it offers training for teachers, events, holiday programs and children's birthdays and carries out projects for school classes, day care centers and after-school care centers. Some of the exhibitions are available for exhibition rental.

Exhibitions

The interactive exhibitions are designed, produced and presented in the 1,000 square meter exhibition hall by the Labyrinth Kindermuseum Berlin. The duration of the exhibition is i. d. Usually 16 to 18 months. The exhibition languages ​​are German and English. The Children's Museum lends a selection of its exhibitions to other museums and cultural sites. The exhibitions were u. a. in Dortmund, Graz / Austria, Heilbronn, Ingelheim, Munich, Neu-Ulm, Nuremberg, Speyer and Duisburg.

The Labyrinth Kindermuseum Berlin is a non-profit GmbH and subsidiary of the association Fabrik Osloer Straße e. V. The Children's Museum is funded by the Senate of Berlin , Senate Department for Education, Youth and Family. It is also financed by entrance fees and funds from foundations, sponsors and partners.

The children's museum is located in a former assembly hall for match machines, which was operated from 1890 to 1977 by the Albert Roller machine factory on the site of what is now the socio-cultural center of the Factory Osloer Strasse in Berlin-Gesundbrunnen .
