Laible und Frisch is a twelve-part television series from Baden-Württemberg in Swabian dialect that was first broadcast on SWR television . The location of the action is the fictional village Schafferdingen on the edge of the Swabian Alb. The location is Bad Urach and its surroundings.

Right next to the long-established village bakery Laible, a large industrial baker from Hamburg opens a baked goods factory with a shop. Village life is fundamentally turned upside down.

On June 8, 2011, the SWR announced the end of the television series despite protests from producers, viewers, actors, politics and tourism associations. The reason given was the “limited budget”. The series was thus canceled before the end of the story.

On December 28, 2014, the SWR television showed a play sequel that was performed in the comedy in the Marquardt in Stuttgart.

Motion picture

A film under the name Laible and Frisch: Do goht dr Doig was originally supposed to be in cinemas on June 25, 2017. However, the implementation was in the meantime on the brink due to a lack of budgets and a lack of funding. The 50,000 euros required were finally collected through a fundraising campaign and filming began.

The shooting took place from May 30th to June 27th 2017. The film was shot in Reutlingen , Dettingen , Stuttgart and Bad Urach , among others . The film opened in 38 cinemas in Baden-Württemberg on December 28, 2017. It was shown for the first time on TV on SWR TV on January 1, 2019 .
