Lajeado is a city in Brazil's southernmost state, Rio Grande do Sul . It is considered the center in the valley of the Taquaris River (Vale do Taquari).

geography

Lajeado is about 120 kilometers from Porto Alegre , the capital of the state of Rio Grande do Sul . To the north the city borders on Arroio do Meio and Marques de Souza . In the south are the cities of Santa Clara do Sul and Cruzeiro do Sul . Lajeado is bounded to the east by the Taquari River , on whose other bank is Estrela . Lajeado is bounded to the west by Forquetinha and Santa Clara do Sul. The climate is subtropical .
