Lake McMurray is a census-designated place (CDP) in Skagit County , Washington state . As of the 2010 United States Census , Lake McMurray had 192 residents. It belongs to the Metropolitan Statistical Area of Mount Vernon - Anacortes .

On a per capita income basis , Lake McMurray ranks 43rd out of 522 compared areas in Washington. Lake MacMurray is part of the Conway School District in Conway .

history

McMurray was parceled out in 1890 when the railway line was expanded to that point. A post office was founded under the name McMurray in 1890 and operated until 1945. The nearby lake and place bear the name of an early settler.

According to the United States Census Bureau , the CDP covers a total of 2.7 km², 2.1 km² of which is land and the remainder (19.42%) is water.

Demographics

As of the 2000 census , Lake McMurray had 200 residents, 83 households, and 62 families. The population density was 94.2 per km ². There were 104 housing units at an average density of 49 per km².

The population was 90% white , 0.5% African American , 3.5% Asian , 2% Pacific islander , 0.5% other "races", and 3.5% two or more "races" . Hispanics or Latinos of "any race" made up 0.5% of the population.

Of the 83 households, 31.3% had children under the age of 18, 65.1% were run by married couples living together and 4.8% by single mothers; 25.3% were non-families. 22.9% of the households were singles and 12% were single people over 65 years of age. The average household size was 2.41 and the average family size was 2.79 people.

The median age in the city was 44 years. 20.5% of the population were under 18, 5.5% between 18 and 24, 24.5% between 25 and 44, 33.5% between 45 and 64 and 16, 65 years or older. There were 124.7 men for every 100 women, and 114.9 men for every 100 women over the age of 18.

All information on median income relates to the median. The median household income was US $ 65,536 and that of families was US $ 62,083. Men had a median income of US $ 36,071 compared to US $ 39,375 for women. The per capita income was US $ 29,051. Nobody lived below the poverty line .
