Lambi ( Greek Λάμπη , ( f. Sg. )) Is one of the two municipal districts of the municipality of Agios Vasilios in southern Crete . Until 2010 it existed as an independent municipality in the prefecture of Rethymno . The former administrative center Spili had 624 inhabitants in 2011.

Geographical location
Lambi is located on the south coast of Crete on the Libyan Sea . It was the southeasternmost municipality in the Rethymno prefecture and borders on the Heraklion regional district to the east .
The municipality is bounded in the north by Mount Soros (1186 m) and the Kedros massif (1776 m). To the south of the coast lie the Asideroto massif (1136 m) and Mount Vouvala (947 m). Most of the localities of the municipality are located on east-west running river valleys (Kissamos, Akoumianos) between the mountain ranges. To the east, near the exit of the Platis river valley, is the resort of Agia Galini . Further to the west are the seaside resorts of Agios Georgios and Agios Pavlos . The municipal area also includes the uninhabited Paximadia Islands in the Bay of Messara.

Lambi borders (clockwise, starting in the west) on the municipality of Finikas , Rethymno , Amari and the municipality of Tymbaki in the municipality of Festos .
