In the period from 1585 and 1590 Womelsdorf belonged to the Erndtebrück Schulzerei. In 1819 he moved to the district of Birkelbach. In 1845 Womelsdorf was assigned to the Berghausen district.

After that, the fire fighting group was given a vehicle space with an adjoining changing room and a training room in the new Erndtebrück fire and rescue station . This is where the community's rescue service - formerly on Struthstraße - is housed. The fire fighting group Womelsdorf has a partnership with the fire department from Womelsdorf ( Pennsylvania ) in the USA (Volunteer Fire Company Womelsdorf PA) .
