Ampelographic varietal characteristics

  • The medium-sized leaves (see also the article leaf shape ) are five-lobed and deeply indented. The stalk bay is lyren or U-shaped open. The blade is bluntly serrated. The teeth are medium-sized compared to the grape varieties. The leaf surface (also called blade) is hardly blistered. In autumn the foliage turns yellowish with a few reddish spots.
  • The cylindrical grape is medium to large in size and dense to compact. The round berries are medium-sized and bluish-black in color. The peel of the berry is extremely strong and firm.

Lambrusco Viadanese ripens 35 days after the Gutedel and is therefore late-ripening. In Emilia-Romagna, the grapes are collected from the end of September to the beginning of October. The vigorous variety delivers large but uneven yields as the variety is very prone to trickling .
