The Lamprecht Transport AG , headquartered in Basel is an internationally active Swiss freight forwarding - and logistics companies . The company has six branches in Switzerland, nine in the USA and three subsidiaries.

Field of activity

The company basically transports all types of goods worldwide. This also includes chemical and pharmaceutical products , machines , food and electronic devices . In European transport, the majority of goods are transported by truck or in combined transport by rail and truck. In addition, Lamprecht carries out regular collective transports to the most important commercial and industrial centers in Europe.

The company also specializes in logistics services. These include repackaging and repackaging, marking, labeling, labeling, neutralizing, storage, distribution on demand, customer-specific special services for logistics and transport as well as special handling for pharmaceutical products and other substances.

Lamprecht Transport AG has been operating its own logistics center in Pratteln BL since August 2018. It offers logistics and transport there.

history

The company was founded by Adolf Lamprecht shortly after the end of the Second World War in 1945. The first road transport involved a load of 90 tons of fresh fish from Denmark through war-torn Germany to Switzerland.

With the opening of the branch in Zurich in 1947, Lamprecht focused on the rapidly increasing air freight at the new Kloten Airport . In 1955 the company started the transit traffic between Germany and Italy . At the same time, Lamprecht gained a foothold in the other Western European countries and founded a German subsidiary in Singen. In 1965 the company opened a base in Geneva as well as in the United States.

After the death of the company's founder, Adolf Lamprecht senior, his son Adolf Lamprecht junior took over the management of the company in 1971. He was followed in 1991 by Thomas Lamprecht as a third generation family member. Under his leadership the expansion was driven forward by opening further bases, founding new subsidiaries and opening up new business fields in the field of trade fair , event and pharmaceutical logistics.

Today Lamprecht Transport AG has its headquarters in Basel with further branches in Switzerland and in the USA with American Lamprecht Transport Inc. in the important economic centers of America.
