Lancelot was a German rock band from Neunkirchen , Saarland .
history
The forerunner of Lancelot was the school band Scrap Manu Factory (SMF), founded in 1973 , which was based on classic rock. As early as 1977 and 1979, they were portrayed by Saarland Radio for SR television. With the first single Little Jane , produced by Ricky King , the group took the more memorable name Lancelot .
In 1983, the debut album But I Just Can't Stay Behind was released on the WPL label, followed by major appearances, including at the school holiday festival or in the opening act for Queen . After a discovery by producer Steve Verroca, the band moved to the United States in 1986 and produced new songs in Los Angeles , California. A hard rock album was produced under the new name Juicy Lucy , but no label was found and the band moved back to Germany in 1991. The album was then released on CD in 1995, as was the best-of album History . In 1996 the band was dissolved.
From 2003 to 2008 the band played again in different line-ups.
