geography

course

The stream rises in a forest area below the Rafzerstein ( 548  m above sea level ) on the state border between the municipalities of Rafz and Lottstetten at about 525  m . It initially flows in an easterly direction and briefly forms the border before it runs for about a kilometer on German territory. Here it changes course and now flows in a south-westerly direction and crosses the state border with Switzerland in a depression between Dietlisberg (CH) and Schneckenberg (DE). It flows through Rafz and affects Wil , Hüntwangen and Wasterkingen . At Wasterkingen, the Landbach briefly forms the border and returns to German territory at the Günzgen district of the municipality of Hohentengen on the Upper Rhine . After it has absorbed the water of the bath trench, it flows through Herdern and finally empties at about 333  m above sea level. NN from the right into the Rhine.
