Neighboring communities are Hohentengen , Glattfelden (exclave Neuhus ), Eglisau , Wil and Wasterkingen . It lies between Zurich and Schaffhausen. The border between Germany and Switzerland runs to the west .

Schaffhausen, Bülach, Zurich or Winterthur can be reached in a short time by train. It is around 20-30 minutes by car from Zurich- Kloten Airport.
