Stendal district court
The Stendal Regional Court is a court of ordinary jurisdiction and one of four regional courts in Saxony-Anhalt . It is based in Stendal .
Judicial district
The district courts of Burg , Gardelegen , Salzwedel and Stendal belong to the judicial district . The area of responsibility thus extends to the districts of Stendal , Jerichower Land and the Altmarkkreis Salzwedel . The higher regional court of Naumburg is superordinate to the Stendal regional court .
building
The building that houses the regional court was built in 1879.
On the upper floor there is a picture gallery of all the Federal Chancellors and Federal Presidents of Germany. Other pictures by regional artists are also temporarily exhibited there.
Authority management
From 1992 to 2015 the regional court - with a brief interruption in 1996 - was headed by Dieter Remus as regional court president.
Frank Böger has been President of the Regional Court since February 2017 .
