description

Country house

The listed property consists of two structures, the newly built manorial country house (Weinbergstrasse 32) and the outbuilding directly on the street (Weinbergstrasse 32a), which arose from the conversion of an existing vineyard house.

The country house, set back from the street, is a plastered building with a converted upper floor in the mansard roof . The eaves side of the building faces the street. Left of center is a two-storey, semicircular state bay with a conical dome , the upper floor by a loggia is formed with korbbogigen openings. The country house is attached to the outbuilding.

Outbuildings

Country house for Richard Lange, outbuilding No. 32a

The also cleaned outbuilding directly on the street arose from a vineyard house from the 18th century, which was similar in size and appearance to the not far away Lorenz house and whose ground floor was preserved and reused. The outbuilding, the eaves side of which is directly in the street, has a hipped roof with a central dwelling .

history

The watchmaker and industrialist Richard Lange (Paul Alfred Lange), the eldest son of Ferdinand Adolph Lange and co-owner of the A. Lange & Söhne watch manufacturer in Glashütte , acquired a vineyard in Oberlößnitz in 1908 (different: 1910) . A vineyard and a nursery belonged to the property.

On September 28, 1908, he applied for the demolition of all the old vineyard buildings on his property in order to have a new building built based on a design by Paul Ziller . On December 19, 1908, the Kötzschenbrodaer government master builder Kempe prepared a sketch as a counter-draft on behalf of the Landesverein Sächsischer Heimatschutz , which determined the preservation of the ground floor of the vineyard house located directly on the street. On this basis, the architect of the Ziller brothers' construction company , Max Steinmetz, created a new design, which was approved on June 2, 1909. The purchase permit was granted on March 9, 1910.
