State election in Liechtenstein in 1970
The state election in Liechtenstein in 1970 took place on January 30th and February 1st, 1970 and was the regular election of the legislature of the Principality of Liechtenstein. All 15 members of the Landtag of the Principality of Liechtenstein were elected by the people of the country in the two constituencies of the Oberland and Unterland.
For the last time, voting was based on the list proportion, and the last time the 18 percent hurdle was applied, which was lowered to 8 percent in 1973.
Starting position
In the 1966 state elections , the Progressive Citizens' Party in Liechtenstein received 48.47%, the Patriotic Union 42.79% and the Christian Social Party of Liechtenstein 8.74% of the votes cast.
Election result
Of the 4309 eligible voters, 4091 people took part in the election (94.9%). Of the votes cast, 4051 were valid. The votes and mandates were distributed in the two constituencies - Oberland and Unterland - as follows:
