Lani Hall (born November 1, 1945 in Chicago , Illinois ) is an American singer .

Live and act
From 1966 to 1971 she was the lead singer of Sérgio Mendes & Brasil '66. Her album Fool On The Hill was nominated in 1968 for a Grammy Award in the category Best Contemporary-Pop Performance, Vocal Duo Or Group . She began a solo career in 1982 and has since released several Latin pop albums. For her solo debut Lani she received a Grammy nomination in 1984, and in 1986 she won the prize for her album Es Facil Amar . In addition to her music career, she wrote novels and produced a television documentary about her husband, the musician and founder of the record label A & M Records Herb Alpert . After several years of hiatus, which she had spent raising her daughter, she returned to the limelight in 1998 with the album Brasil Nativo . Lani Hall recently released I Feel You (2011) and Steppin 'Out (2013), both albums with her husband Herb Alpert, to whom she has been married since 1973. Lani Hall received another Grammy in 2014 for Steppin 'Out .
