Larcher Touristik is a transport company in Markt Schwaben , which is active in local public transport , in coach transport , as well as in training and further education for professional drivers . The company was founded in 1945 . Larcher Touristik has several of its own line licenses in local public transport.

history

The company was founded in September 1945 by Albert Larcher, who set up the regular service from Poing to the district capital Ebersberg with an old Opel Blitz bus powered by a wood gasifier from Wehrmacht stocks, where the coveted and essential food cards were issued at that time.

With the influx of repatriates and refugees to Markt Schwaben, the need for transport grew very quickly. Another bus had to be purchased after just a few months. For Lufthansa, passengers were transported to Frankfurt when planes could not take off in Munich-Riem - a bit adventurous because the buses also had to take the "tank wood" with them for the entire route.

The travel business also boomed during the economic miracle. As early as 1955, 10 years after it was founded, the company was operating seven buses and, in addition to regular services, now also included excursion traffic, international travel to Yugoslavia , Italy and Switzerland as well as factory traffic for large companies such as Stahlgruber.

In 1960 the first generation change was prepared - the founder took his son Herbert into the company. The company made history in 1962 when it introduced the first school bus service in Bavaria on behalf of the German Federal Post Office, thus establishing a new line of business that is still part of the company's core business today.

In 1979 the regular service was integrated into the route network of the Munich Transport and Tariff Association (MVV). Larcher Touristik still operates routes in the east of Munich within this network.

The company has been run by the third generation of the Larcher family since 1995: Herbert Larcher jun. runs the company to this day and has given it its modern form. Under his direction, the vehicle fleet was significantly expanded, and in the meantime a limousine and chauffeur service was set up as an additional business area, which has since been abandoned.

Business areas

Larcher Touristik GmbH uses a number of its own line licenses to transport passengers on the MVV regional bus routes in the Ebersberg district on a daily basis. Larcher also takes on school transport for the communities of Poing , Pliening , Anzing , Forstern , Forstinning, Pastetten, Hohenlinden, Walpertskirchen, Wörth and for a Montessori school.

In the travel sector, Larcher offers its own travel events in Germany and Europe with modern coaches and long-distance coaches and is also a partner in the VdK travel service. Charter trips throughout Europe are carried out via the bus rental division.

Larcher Touristik also offers training programs for bus drivers. This includes basic and advanced training for professional drivers and special driver safety training .

Vehicle fleet

The fleet comprises 44 buses, 36 of which are scheduled buses. Most of them come from the manufacturer Mercedes-Benz (22), but vehicles from Solaris (8), Iveco (7), MAN (5), Setra (1) and Neoplan (1) are also represented (as of February 2020) . All vehicles are registered in the district of Ebersberg and have uniform license plates, consisting of the company abbreviation LA and a number from 1 to 900, which also serves as the vehicle number; for example EBE-LA 76 .

The buses are painted in uniform colors: All public service buses have the green, white and blue design of the MVV , while the touring vehicles are in metallic silver and the school buses in white with wavy lines in the company's colors. Only a Neoplan Centroliner articulated bus deviates from this color scheme - it used to serve the MVV lines and still has the appropriate paintwork, but due to its age it is only used on the private school bus routes.

Many former buses ended up in Eastern Europe after they were taken out of service and today they drive - some with unchanged paintwork - in countries such as Romania , Lithuania , Poland , Bulgaria and Belarus .

The location in the Forsterner industrial park was opened in mid-2014, the former depot in the town center gave way to a new housing estate.
