Larissa Ivanovna Djadkowa ( Russian Лариса Ивановна Дядькова ; born March 9, 1952 in Zelenodolsk ) is a Russian opera singer (mezzo-soprano / alto).

Life

The mezzo-soprano and contralto received her vocal training at the Leningrad Conservatory and was engaged by the Kirov Theater in 1978 . In 1984 she won the Glinka song competition . After Leningrad in Saint Petersburg and the Kirov Theater were renamed the Mariinsky Theater again after the fall of the Wall in the Soviet Union , artistic director and conductor Valery Gergiev took the ensemble on tours around the world. In addition to Anna Netrebko , Larissa Djadkowa received numerous engagements in the world's leading opera houses. In 1996 she made her debut at the Metropolitan Opera and has been a regular guest at the New York Opera since then . In Germany she was seen in a production of Un ballo in maschera by Giuseppe Verdi at the State Opera Unter den Linden , where she sang Ulrica under the direction of Jossi Wieler .
